Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers to the questions families ask most often.

How do I know I'm getting my own companion's ashes back?

Every pet on our individual cremation service is assigned a unique identification disc at collection. That disc stays with them through every stage — it goes into the chamber with them, stays with the ashes during processing, and is attached to the casket when returned to you. We follow a strict single-pet-per-chamber protocol and you receive a certificate of individual cremation with the unique ID number. You never have to wonder.

How quickly can you collect my companion?

Typically quick, often same-day — arranged with you upon Tyne, Gateshead, North Tyneside, and South Tyneside. Same-day collection is nearly always possible. For wider Northumberland, Sunderland, Durham, and further afield, collection is usually arranged with you. We operate 7 days a week.

How long until I get the ashes back?

For individual cremation, ashes are typically returned arranged with you, typically within seven days. We'll call you when they're ready to arrange hand-delivery at a time that suits you. If you need them sooner, let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate.

Do I have to pay upfront?

No. We never ask for payment before the service. We'll send an invoice after the cremation and you can settle it by card or bank transfer when you're ready. Grief is hard enough without worrying about money on the day.

Can you collect from my vet?

Yes. If your companion passes at the vet — or is already there — we'll collect directly from the practice. Just let your vet know you've chosen us and we'll handle the rest. Many local vets in Newcastle and the North East know us and call us directly.

Can I bring my companion to you myself?

Yes. Some families prefer to bring their companion themselves — it can be an important part of the goodbye. We'll arrange a private appointment so you have the time and space you need. Our facility is appointment-only (not a public premises) so the full address is provided when you book.

Can I be there during the cremation?

We don't offer attended cremations as standard — our facility is a working crematorium, not a chapel of rest. However, we can discuss a private time for you to say goodbye before the cremation. Call us and we'll do our best to accommodate what you need.

What happens with communal cremation?

Your companion is cremated alongside a small number of other pets in a shared, dignified ceremony. The combined ashes are scattered with care in our memorial garden — a peaceful, tended space you're welcome to visit. You receive a certificate of communal cremation.

Can I get a paw print even if I choose communal cremation?

Yes. We can take a paw-print impression before the cremation regardless of which service you choose. Just let us know when you call.

What happens if my companion passes at night or on a weekend?

We're available 7 days a week. Outside office hours (9am–5pm weekdays, 10am–2pm Saturdays), leave a message and we'll call you back — usually within 30 minutes. We can arrange collection even on Sundays and bank holidays.

Do you handle large dogs?

Yes. We have the facilities to handle dogs of all sizes, including extra-large breeds (45 kg+). Pricing is based on weight bands — see our pricing page for details.

What areas do you cover?

We serve Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Sunderland, Northumberland, County Durham, Hexham, Morpeth, and the wider North East. Collection fees vary by distance — see our pricing page.
